This can become even more challenging when campuses move to IP telephony to take advantage of advanced calling features and cost savings. Fortunately, reliable and cost-effective solutions are available to help higher education organizations address these challenges head-on, in a simple and elegant manner.

911 Enable has just released a Partner Case Study which details how we collaborated with IPC Technologies to deliver an E911 solution for the legacy and ShoreTel IP phone systems at The College of William and Mary. This Partner Case Study explains why IPC Technologies picked 911 Enable for this deployment, and how 911 Enable’s advanced solutions met or exceeded the requirements of The College of William and Mary. To learn more, you can download the Partner Case Study here.

911 Enable is pleased to announce the launch of an updated website! One of the new features of this refreshed website is a complete section dedicated to emergency calling support for International organisations.

The need to keep VoIP phone users safe affects organizations around the globe, so 911 Enable has responded by offering its Emergency Gateway (EGW) appliance worldwide. The EGW automatically discovers the precise locations of IP phones on the enterprise network, and includes a robust suite of security desk notification tools. When a user places an emergency call, the EGW can route the call to on-premises security personnel and send an alert that includes the caller’s exact location and callback number. Security personnel can then dispatch assistance to distressed callers in a timely manner. The caller-location information may also be used to select a routing trunk to deliver the call to public emergency services.

Organisations in the UK deploying the EGW can also use 911 Enable’s Emergency Routing Service (ERS) to deliver emergency calls and detailed caller-location information to the public emergency network’s Emergency Control Centre. This helps organisations ensure that their private telephone networks comply with regulatory guidelines, and that they fulfill their legal obligation to minimise health and safety risks.

To learn more about International emergency calling support, visit 911 Enable online here: http://www1.911enable.com/international

911 Enable will also host a webinar dedicated to this topic on March 15, 2012. You can register here.

911 Enable is pleased to release the first E911 management platform for hosted IP-PBX providers. Designed to work with BroadSoft BroadWorks, the Service Provider Emergency Gateway (SP-EGW) addresses some of the key issues facing today’s hosted IP-PBX providers: the need for a solution to help meet state E911 regulations, minimize liability, and save money on initial setup and ongoing management of E911.

As part of the launch of the SP-EGW, 911 Enable has also released a number of new resources to explain what the SP-EGW is, what it does, and the benefits it offers. These resources include a Product Brief, Data Sheet, and Brochure.

Additionally, 911 Enable will be hosting an educational webinar on the SP-EGW on October 25. You can learn more and register here.

911 Enable often partners with VoIP/UC resellers to help them meet their customers’ E911 needs.

One of these resellers is GTRI (Global Technology Resources, Inc.), a leading network consulting firm that provides solutions for data centers, unified communications, wireless/mobility and more. GTRI works closely with their customers to help them reach their business goals, and needed to find an E911 solution for their customers with minimal administration requirements, real-time address validation and provisioning capabilities, and on-site security desk routing and notification features. The solution also had to help their customers meet E911 legislation requirements, and be certified with Cisco. GRTI decided to partner with 911 Enable to provide E911 solutions for their customers that they could stand behind with confidence.

To learn more about how 911 Enable and GTRI work together meet customer needs, read the Partner Case Study.
